The latest sensor in the Optec family is an on-line COD analyser, which is designed especially for dairy effluent monitoring Normally dairies track their waste levels by taking samples from time to time and analysing them in their laboratories or even by outsourcing this service from an external company

The Optec-COD can be installed directly into an effluent pipe or open channel and the sensor can be calibrated to the official COD analysing method of the dairy.

After this, the signal can be connected to process computer or data logger.

Combined with flow measurement, the total environmental impact caused by dairy effluent can then be estimated.

With an Optec-COD sensor installed in each main sewer line, it is also easy to monitor and detect any leakage in the process and reduce losses.
