Eletta flow meters control water cooling

An Italian manufacturer of induction heating machines is utilising the Eletta range of differential pressure based flow measurement systems, available in the UK from Flotech Solutions.

SAET induction heating machines are used to surface harden many components used in automobile and engine manufacture.

The induction heaters require controlled cooling to maintain repeatable performance, and the heat treatment process involves quenching and controlled cooling of the components.

SAET wished to standardise on a single flow-meter style for monitoring and control of the cooling flows, but found that the additives used tended to affect the repeatability of turbine flow meters, and other electronic meters were too expensive.

The Eletta range of differential pressure based flow measurement systems offer a standard design of pipework sensor, with different indicators and transmitter styles for use on the various applications needed in each installation.

SAET chose the V-Series low-flow alarm systems, the S-Series with local flow indication on 130mm dial gauges plus dual set-point alarms, and the full analogue output for remote control signals, also with a local indicator, on the Eletta A-Series.

With no on-site calibration, high repeatability and reliability, SAET has found the Eletta range of DP flow indicators and alarms invaluable in customising machines to meet local requirements, even allowing upgrades on site.
