FMA delivers "total accountability" to the market

Throughout 2003, Lichfield-based FMA Process Engineering has clearly demonstrated its credentials as a leading provider of innovative management information systems across a range of manufacturing industries.
"In today's highly accountable business world, organisations of all kinds are constantly seeking to improve product traceability, reduce costly plant downtime, minimise product wastage and establish those vital Key Performance Indicators that can maximise the return on investment from both plant automation and process control", commented FMA Sales and Marketing Director, Paul Bunyan.
"At FMA we have established a name for ourselves as the 'acknowledged experts' in the delivery of control system packages designed to provide vital real-time process data".
Where FMA was once predominantly associated with the delivery of the highest levels of process engineering excellence and data collection expertise to the international brewing industry, the company has also become industry experts in the provision of real time data collection for the UK and overseas soft drinks, dairy and food production industries.
These successes have been achieved via the delivery of control system packages geared to providing vital process data at shop floor level right through to vertically structured systems encompassing SCADA, Management Execution Systems (MES) and interfacing with complex Enterprise Resource Planning systems (ERP) across multiple production sites.
Recent "non-brewery" contracts won by FMA include the successful commissioning of the prestigious Dairy Crest Severnside "super dairy"; the installation of new Cleaning in Place (CIP) technology at Heinz Telford and a process project at Kraft Foods in Banbury.
As a further endorsement of FMA continued delivery of world-beating management information technology across the global brewery sector, the company has also recently installed a new keg line management information system at the Carlsberg-Tetley Northampton site, and implemented a new data management system to interface with the existing Interbrew ERP facilities at Salmesbury, Preston.
Internationally, FMA has been appointed as principle project managers for an impressive new brewery development by Diageo PLC at their recently acquired Guinness Nigeria site, whilst other international brewery contracts have encompassed dry goods, brewhouse areas, green beer processing plants, CIP systems, blending and de-aeration, filtration, bright beer and DPV areas at several sites.
"Quite simply, we believe that virtually any manufacturing organisation can benefit from the implementation of intelligent, management execution systems and plant and process optimisation technology," added Paul Bunyan.
"Process operators and shop floor managers gain the ability to review in real time the actual status of any particular stage of a process, while senior managers are empowered with a whole range of plant-wide Key Performance Indicators at their disposal.".
