FMA CONFIRMS ITS COMMITMENT TO HEALTH and SAFETY WITH NEBOSH and SAFEcontractor ACCREDITATION Leading project design, process control and management information technology specialists, FMA, from Lichfield, UK, have further underlined their commitment to occupational Health and Safety by securing NEBOSH accreditation for two of their senior employees.
FMA Process Engineering Director, Geoff Fisher, and Project / H and S Manager, Steve McGuinness, successfully sat the NEBOSH National General Certificate examination in June 2006 and have just been presented with their certificates.
Commented Steve McGuinness commented: "Across our considerable client base, we are recognised for our uncompromising Health and Safety approach, for raising general levels of Health and Safety awareness and for taking seriously the site safety of all personnel.
We are committed to being totally proactive in developing a safety-led culture, especially when acting as principal contractors and providing total workforce management in our various complete turnkey roles".
In addition to achieving NEBOSH accreditation, FMA are members of the British Safety Council and have recently been successful in achieving SAFEcontractor accreditation.
The NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health enables managers to discharge more effectively their health and safety responsibilities to the organisation and to those they manage.
This internationally recognised award will help to ensure that FMA business decisions are made from a position of knowledge across a broad range of hazards and work activities.
The SAFEcontractor Accreditation Scheme is a health and safety accreditation scheme for companies operating in the projects installation and construction areas.
It simplifies the process of demonstrating to clients that you have health and safety policies and procedures in place.
The scheme rigorously assesses the company health and safety arrangements.
Clients recognise the scheme and accept the SAFEcontractor certificate as confirmation of competency.
FMA clients have a legal obligation to ensure that FMA and its subcontractors operate in a safe way.
Increasingly this is being carried out through SAFEcontractor.
Established in 1981, FMA has successfully undertaken numerous projects in the brewery, soft drinks, dairy and food manufacturing industries both at home and overseas.
As an ISO9001 accredited business and holders of the TickIT software and application-based standard, FMA are acutely aware of the need for quality in all aspects of system design and see their own internal standards and procedures covering the design, implementation, validation and testing of the systems they supply as a key differentiator for them as system integrators in the food and beverage market place.
