A Flowmeter to Meter the flow in Drains
How much flows down that drain? It has always been difficult to know how much flows down drains, but the EA have imposed a 50m3/day limit on the amount of effluent allowed to be discharged per day
The EA have imposed a 50m3/day limit on the amount of effluent that may be put down a drain, sewer or other outfall, and that covers almost every factory where water is used in the process DrainMag has been specifically designed to measure the flow in drains 6" - 20", and not miss a drop
This electromagnetic flowmeter, which incorporates "pulsed AC" technology to ignore sludge and other debris that may form, is available from Flow Measurement Limited.
The cylindrical meter is dropped into a 3 1/2" x 5" deep hole with sufficient clearance to take a 1" diameter conduit cable out.
A pressure transducer or ultrasonic level transmitter gives the depth of the effluent.
The effluent velocity is measured by the two protruding electrodes.
The DeltaSmart electronics computes the discharge from the velocity and level data.
