Since 1971 Flow-Mon having been manufacturing 'Flow Rate Indicator Switches' for the UK Market and have also exported throughout Europe and the Rest of the World.

In 2005 Export Sales accounted for circa 40% of Turnover and this year Flow-Mon are selling to a more varied market with a continuing increase in our Export Sales.

In the past five months Flow-Mon have sold Flow and Sight Indicators to the following countries - Ecuador, USA, Canada, South Africa, Turkey, China, Bhutan, India, Indonesia and Australia.

Our standard product range includes simple sight indicators that visually display positive flow by a 'rising ball' or 'spinning wheel' principle to our more commonly used 'flow rate indicator switches' that constantly indicate the actual flow and have a switch point to function as a high or low flow alarm that can be operated anywhere along the range of scale.

ATEX approved switches can be housed in our flow indicators and our Honeywell ATEX approved micro-switches are used by a variety of our European customers when a higher level of switch protection is needed.

Where a 4 - 20mA output signal is required a transmitter is used to send the continuous flow rate to digital displays or work stations to make reading flow rates, monitoring flow and checking switch alarm points more customer friendly and easy to record.

Later this month a consignment of Bronze Flow Rate Indicators, with 4 - 20mA output, are to be installed in Ecuadorian Navy Vessels.

Due to the robust nature and ease of maintenance these 'flow meters' find their way into many different applications, with the marine industry just being one of many.

This year our Flow-Mon brand of 'rising ball' and 'spinner' style sight indicators have found their way to America, Australia, Canada, Germany, India and South Africa among many other countries.

The sales of these simple indicators have increased a full 100% on 2005 figures just in the first six months of this year alone.

The bronze and stainless steel investment castings give our customers a great looking product that also gives accurate flow monitoring and due to the simple operation the indicators can be installed all over the plant and on many different applications.

During April this year, Flow-Mon visited China as part of a Leeds City Council Export Delegation and had the chance to see potential suppliers, other flow meter manufacturers and potential distributors.

All in all, the visit was a huge success and a new distributor for the Eastern China Coast will be coming on line in the second half of this year.

One of our newest distributors, Cenlub Systems, Lubrication Specialist of Faridabad, Haryana, India, have already exhibited at 'ACMEE 2006' in June and 'INTEC 2006' in July and are actively promoting the Flow-Mon 'rising ball' and 'spinners' by advertising on the cover page of 'Industrial Cover Finder' in India.
