Forbes now offer approved random plastic packings for degassing and stripping towers for drinking water applications as dictated by DEFRA and DWI for degassing carbon dioxide and volatile organics

As the main supplier of tanks, towers and other equipment used on Drinking Water Treatment Works, under Regulation 31 of the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulation 2000 and 2001 in England and Wales and under the Water (Scotland) Act 1980 Part V1A for Scotland, Forbes now have approval for their Cheetah Plastic Pall Ring.

Over the past 35 years Forbes has been supplying randomly packed towers for degassing carbon dioxide and stripping very low levels of volatile organics from ground water.

The initial stripping has proved to be extremely economic method in reducing contaminants to a level to allow economic final polishing with carbon.

Levels as high as 100micrograms have been successfully reduced to 5micrograms in one pass through the packed tower.

Forbes has examples of towers installed in 1970s for the degassing of carbon dioxide still in operation.

Further examples of randomly packed towers up to 4 metres in diameter by 10 metres high, are still in operation with the same packings and without any actual maintenance to the towers whatsoever.

Cheetah Random tower packings DW40 are produced from a special grade of non-toxic non-taint material.

They are supplied either in 100 litres bags or 1 and 2 cubic metres Euro bags with a pouring funnel in the base.
