Flir 'E' Series camera just got even better
The new ThermaCAM E300 is Flir Systems second E-Series 320 x 160 pixel infrared camera, a feature that provides superior thermal imaging performance
Flir Systems was first to introduce a toolbox infrared camera with a 160 x 120 focal plane array.
It also led the field with its ThermaCAM E320, a model with a 320 x 240 display that bridged the gap between a find-it-fix-it tool and a professional camera.
Now the arrival of its new entry-level InfraCAM has allowed Flir Systems to redefine its established E-Series range allowing the introduction of another new model that once again moves the boundaries of low cost thermal imaging.
The new ThermaCAM E300 is Flir Systems second E-Series 320 x 160 pixel infrared camera, a feature that provides superior thermal imaging performance.
However by comparison with its nearest competitor this new addition is smaller, lighter and has a choice of lenses.
For the majority of applications the standard 23deg lens is ideal but wide-angle and telephoto lenses are also available.
This makes the ThermaCAM E300 as suitable for longer range inspection as it is for simple electrical inspection.
Interchangeable optics are very important as they give the thermographer the flexibility to achieve the best performance for every application.
This facility remains unique to the ThermaCAM.
To provide even better analysis of captured images and the creation of simple reports in PDF format, the ThermaCAM E300 comes complete with the new ThermaCAM QuickView 2 software.
The camera measures temperatures from -20C to +500C, optionally up to +1,200C and detects temperature differences as small as 0.10C.
Naturally the E300 inherits all the standard E-series features such as colour alarm, moveable spot, area max and min, video output and a built-in Laser LocatIR pointer.
IP54 rated, it is suitable for rigorous industrial use.
Images stored on the camera internal memory are easily downloaded to a PC and inserted directly into standard Windows programmes.
The MS Word-based ThermaCAM Reporter software is optionally available for further detailed analysis and reporting.
In common with all Flir Systems ThermaCAM E-Series infrared cameras, the new ThermaCAM E300 is equipped with a European manufactured detector.
This means the camera is available on shorter delivery times as it is no longer subject to US Government licensing procedures.
It also enables the camera to be used in practically any country in the world.
The next step up in the E-Series range is still the ThermaCAM E320 but it too has been re-introduced with even more features.
These include 4 x digital zoom and advanced analysis features such as auto hot spot indicators, differential and three-spot temperature measurement, colour and audible alarm and emissivity look-up table.
Despite their high performance features the new ThermaCAM E300 and E320 cameras remain true to their E-Series class purpose.
They are designed for customers with specific thermographic needs who do not require superior ThermaCAM P-Series flexibility and yet require more than a simple inspection tool.
