A new world first: Thermal Imaging in your pocket!
Flir Systems introduces another world first, the smallest, lightest and most affordable infrared camera, that can fit in your pocket, at an affordable price level
Thermal imaging is a great technology for spotting electrical and heating problems: but only for those that can afford it - right? Maybe this was true in the past but not any more.
Yet again widening the scope of infrared, Flir Systems has just introduced its new i5, a pocket-sized infrared camera that will sell for just GBP1990.
Not only is i5 easily affordable by the trades, it is guaranteed to provide a rapid return on investment.
It will give electricians, plumbers, HVAC and plant engineers that all important sixth sense making them more efficient at their job.
The i5 will add value to service and has the potential to boost profitability significantly.
It will even allow the user to look at new applications such as those aimed at minimising energy loss.
The i5 is the first infrared camera of its kind on the market in terms of weight, size, functionality and price.
Weighing less than 340g it has an 80 x 80pixel IR resolution and thermal sensitivity of 60mK that provides a clear infrared image so that faults can be identified and remedial action taken; a long life battery provides up to 5hours of continuous operation.
Temperatures up to +250C can be measured with the i5 and it can detect thermal differences as small as 0.1C; images are displayed on the camera's bright 2.8" LCD.
This measurement range enables the camera to meet the needs of a very wide range of mechanical, electrical and plumbing applications in domestic, commercial and industrial environments.
This multi-purpose camera is also incredibly easy to use and requires no former experience.
It really is a matter of point, shoot and detect hotspots.
The resultant JPG images carry all the necessary temperature data and can be stored on a built-in SD card or directly onto a PC for analysis or e-mail.
Available via a Europe-wide distribution network the i5 comes with Flir QuickReport software for image analysis and easy creation of reports in PDF format.
Also standard within the package are a 512MB mini SD card, a Li-ion rechargeable battery with adaptor/charger, USB cable and built-in lens shutter, hand strap, manual and user CD.
