Flir Systems has introduced the i50 troubleshooting infrared camera to its entry level range of thermal imaging devices.

The Flir i50, which weighs 600g, is designed for those needing higher resolution and more features and for whom documentation of findings is important.

It has a choice of display measurement modes, and a 140 x 140 resolution, with 25 x 25 field of view and 100mK NETD.

Accuracy is +/- 2 per cent and thermal sensitivity better than 0.1C.

This model also incorporates a 2.3mpixel visual camera and stores up to 1,000 standard jpeg images onto its micro SD card.

Other features include 'Picture in Picture', which enables the operator to see an infrared image super-imposed on a visual image.

The i50 also includes built-in laser pointer and LED illumination for inspection in low light areas.

A long-life battery provides for up to five hours of continuous operation.

The Flir i50 is IP54-rated, making it suitable for use in harsh industrial environments, and all of its critical elements, including the detector, lens and laser systems as well as dedicated electronics and software, are designed and manufactured in-house by FLIR Systems.

Flir Systems said the i50 is ideal for predictive maintenance and planned inspection of electrical and mechanical systems to ensure they operate at maximum efficiency and safety with minimal energy consumption.
