ATEX intrinsically-safe pressure
calibrator

Fluke has further extended its range of intrinsically safe test tools for use in hazardous environments by the introduction of the new, small yet powerful 718Ex self-contained Pressure Calibrator

Fluke has further extended its range of intrinsically safe test tools for use in hazardous environments by the introduction of the new, powerful 718Ex Pressure Calibrator These ATEX-compliant Fluke test tools are designed specifically for measurements and calibrations in environments such as petrochemical plants, oil platforms and refineries, and other locations subject to risk of explosion

The new handheld Fluke 718Ex Pressure Calibrator is a cost-effective solution, believed to be the smallest, self-contained pressure calibrator on the market with a built-in hand pump.

It is available in 2bar and 7bar models with accuracies to 0.05% of full span, and extension up to 200bar using optional pressure modules.

It features a simple push-button user interface and a wide range of selectable measurement units for pressure.

Current measurements offer 0.02% accuracy and 0.001mA resolution.

Min/Max hold functions ensure capture of accurate readings.

The 718Ex is compact and lightweight for easy portability, and has Fluke's proven rugged, reliable construction for use under tough field and on site working conditions.

The built-in pressure/vacuum hand pump has a vernier and bleed valve.

Intrinsically safe, it is compliant with the latest ATEX directive (EX 1G EEx ia IIC T4).

To optimise the pressure measurement range of the Fluke 718Ex to a specific application, a range of 8 Fluke 700PEx intrinsically safe pressure modules (ATEX compliance: EX 1G EEx ia IIC T4, certification pending) is available.

These optional modules offer maximum flexibility to measure a wide range of pressures with one single pressure calibrator.

The 700PEx modules are available as differential, gauge and absolute versions, and cover pressure ranges from 25mbar (differential) to up to 200bar (absolute), with a very high accuracy of up to 0.025%.

Their rugged casing protects the modules when used in harsh industrial environments.

The new 718Ex complements the 707Ex Loop Calibrator, which offers a cost-effective, integrated solution for calibration, repair and maintenance of current loops.

The 718Ex extends the scope of the Fluke products into the specific explosion protected field, and brings users in these environments all the qualities of rugged reliability and high professional performance.

Both these tools, as well as the Fluke 700 PEx pressure modules, comply with the latest European ATEX directive, which took effect in mid 2003 and applies to all tools and equipment sold after that date for use in environments subject to risk of explosion.

These tools give users the assurance of a high standard of protection against explosion risks in areas where hydrocarbons and/or gases may be present during normal or abnormal operation.

The new ATEX-compliant 718Ex Pressure Calibrator is available from Fluke authorised distributors. Request a free brochure from Fluke (UK) ...
