Fine-tune and maintain injection
moulding machines
Fluke explains how to fine-tune and verify injection moulding machines during set-up and maintenance using a handheld Fluke 190 Series ScopeMeter, designed to cope well with harsh environments
A new, downloadable Application Note from the Fluke web site explains how to fine-tune and verify injection moulding machines during set-up and maintenance with the help of a handheld Fluke 190 Series ScopeMeter, designed to cope well with harsh environments Consistency of the repetitive injection process is paramount to maintain the quality of the moulded products

Using the ScopeRecord mode of the Fluke 190 Series ScopeMeter enables the capture of reference curves for parameters such as hydraulic pressure relative to feed-scroll position, and mould cavity pressure relative to feed-scroll position, at the preferred, fine-tuned settings.
Dynamic traces of these parameters plotted against time, when re-starting or maintaining the machine at a later time, can then be easily compared to the optimum settings.
The Fluke ScopeMeter 190 Series of handheld, two-channel oscilloscopes include 196 and 199 models, available with either monochrome or colour screens.
The ScopeRecord mode captures accurate traces of dynamic parameters even over the relatively slow injection process.
The 196 and 199 models offer 100MHz or 200MHz bandwidths and 1GS/s or 2.5GS/s sampling rates respectively, as well as providing a true-rms Multimeter in one affordable, easy to use instrument.
The high-resolution waveforms can also be transferred to a PC running the optional FlukeView ScopeMeter software for documenting, archiving and analysis.
The Application Note 'Injection moulding machine measurements with a Fluke ScopeMeter 190 Series' can be freely downloaded from the Fluke web site, via the 'Applications' drop down, or can be obtained by contacting Fluke directly.
With safety certification to 1,000V CAT II and 600V CAT III, Fluke ScopeMeters help users to safely solve virtually all electronics measurement problems encountered in the field. Request a free brochure from Fluke (UK) ...
