When Fulham-based Macgill's needed to increase its steam capacity, Fulton was the natural choice for the new boilers.

Fulham-based Macgill's is a successful dry cleaning and laundry business that has seen continued growth over recent years Its recent expansion and relocation to new premises in 2003 and investment in laundry equipment - including washing machines, steam ironers and garment presses - required the company to increase its steam capacity

And, for co-owners Reza Khoshnam and Raymond Dennis, Fulton was the natural choice for the new boilers.

Macgill's original dry cleaning operation was established in 1997 and used a gas-fired Fulton 30E boiler.

In 2001 a second 30E was purchased to meet demand.

Explaining the move, Khoshnam says: "We had invested a lot in new laundry equipment, which meant the budget for steam boilers was stretched".

"This left us with a choice of good second-hand or reconditioned boilers".

"Although second-hand boilers are widely available, such a purchase is not without risk", explains Fulton's Sales and Marketing Director Gordon Bareham.

"Much like buying a second-hand car, it is easy to make an expensive mistake".

"It is also rare that a used boiler can be seen operating - much like buying a car without the opportunity to even start the engine, let alone take a test drive".

"This means that you will only be able to assess the performance of a second-hand boiler after the expense of its installation and commissioning".

Fortunately for Macgill's, Fulton had two second-hand 50E steam boilers available that were bought-back from the original owner.

Both were only a couple of years old had a known history and, after undergoing a thorough inspection and test at Fulton's factory in Bristol, were shipped to Macgill's new premises.

"Fulton was really helpful and I will have no hesitation in using them again".

"They allowed me to part-exchange one of my existing 30E boilers, which further reduced the overall cost for the new boiler plant", explains Khoshnam.
