Fulton Boiler Works is set to make its television debut on the UK channel Five in early October, after the company's Bristol-based factory was used to film a wildlife documentary about rats by Granada Wild The opening scene of the 'Animal Nightmares - Rats' programme, shows producer and presenter Nigel Marven - well known for his 'Walking with Dinosaurs' series on the BBC - being lowered by crane into the shell of a Fulton 60J vertical steam boiler that is crawling with rats

This is Nigel's worst nightmare! Commenting on the filming, Nigel says: "Like Indiana Jones, I cannot stand rats.
I'll quite happily pet a spider or a worm, but rats are just beyond me.
In order to deal with this phobia, I decided to make a one-hour film about rats and, as my production company is based in Bristol, we thought it would be a great idea to use a local factory environment for the filming.
We approached Fulton and when we visited the site, it proved ideal and really set the scene for the programme".
The 'Rats' documentary, which is one of a five-part series for TV channel Five, was first screened in 2003 in the UK and United States on the Discovery Channel.
Commenting for Fulton, sales and marketing director Gordon Bareham says: "We were delighted to help with the filming of the documentary and support a local business".
He added, "I would like to stress that we do run a very clean factory, so the production company had to supply its own rats, all of which were counted out after filming!".
Because the first film was such a success, the Fulton factory has again been used for a new production exploring how animals and plants help to solve crime.
The programme, 'Animal Nightmares - Rats' is provisionally scheduled to be shown in early October, as a part of the series starting in September.
