70 years design in new RBC horizontal boiler range
Fulton Boiler Works, the leading manufacturer of vertical steam boilers, has applied more than 70 years design experience to produce its nine-model RBC range of horizontal wet back fire tube boilers
However, the site was saved following a review by the local health authority, which meant that a replacement boiler was required.
Due to the boiler room location, small size and poor access, a bespoke version of the Fulton gas-fired 40E steam boiler was specified for the project by the hospital consultants J.V Tierney, in association with Concord Boiler Engineering.
"This was certainly not a straightforward boiler replacement." explains the Concord project engineer Jim Byrne: "Following a survey of the boiler room, we realised that the Fulton standard Series J boiler was not only too big to go through the doors, but would also not fit next to the existing back-up boiler.
Thankfully Fulton agreed to build a bespoke version for the project, which is shorter and fits perfectly".
Commenting for Fulton, sales and marketing director Gordon Bareham says: "We have a long established relationship with Concord and are delighted to be working with them on this hospital project".
Concord has been installing the Fulton full range of steam boilers and ancillary equipment in Ireland for over ten years and has extensive knowledge in dry cleaning and laundry, food manufacturing, pharmaceutical and hospital installations.
