Siemens has launched a new range of AS-interface power supplies with integrated diagnostics that monitor the status of the installation and detect earth faults and overloads.

The diagnostic information is displayed on LEDs that can be reset either locally or remotely.

In addition, if an earth fault is detected, the supply can also turn itself off.

The range of power supplies, which produce a constant controlled output voltage of 30V DC, are available in current ratings of either 3, 5 or 8A.

Operating from 120-500V AC supplies, they are now available from Functional Safety Engineering, the Siemens UK Technical Partner.
