New Flowquip FlowCal calibration and test facility

Flowquip the leading flow and instrumentation specialists, are pleased to announce the arrival of their new water calibration facility 'FlowCal'.

Using master flowmeters traceable to Swiss National Standards, the rig will allow Flowquip to test and calibrate flow meters on water to up to 3000 l/min.

The new 'FlowCal' calibration rig uses stainless steel pipework and a stainless steel tank.

A separate water filtration system has been included to make sure that the water remains clean and free of contaminants.

Its 3000 litre/min pump is controlled by a PLC via a variable speed drive allowing fine control of flow rates.

The rig employs not just one, but four primary meters.

Each has been calibrated to national standards to give both accuracy and traceability.

What's more, each primary meter can be cross-checked against the others to ensure the highest possible accuracy is maintained at all times.

The new rig is an addition to the existing Flowquip Shellsol calibration facility.

The Shellsol rig has EU weights and measures traceability and has been used for many years to test and calibrate additive and fuel consumption flowmeters over a flow range of 1 to 150 l/min.

Flowquip also offer temperature and pressure calibrations, both traceable to UKAS.
