New E-procurement report targets laboratory supply

A new report on E-procurement in the laboratory supply sector, and the attitudes of smaller suppliers, is available from GAMBICA, free on application

The report is the result of recent work, supported by GAMBICA and UK online for business, to develop supplier awareness of e-procurement in the laboratory supplies and related sectors.

The work arose from industry concerns that suppliers, particularly smaller suppliers, are at risk of losing business, unless they become more familiar with electronic trading and more aware of the emerging requirements of their customers in this field.

The report outlines a number of issues common to most sectors and highlights the importance of supplier readiness to offer electronic business solutions to key customers.

It also notes the diversity of IT systems currently being used for e-commerce and procurement in this sector.

The report is available at no charge upon request from GAMBICA, the association for instrumentation, control, automation and laboratory technology.
