Different rates of thermal expansion between stainless steel and conventional gasket materials, particularly when steam sterilising process pipework, demands tri-clamps are re-tightened on a regular basis.
Re-tightening conventional gaskets incurs the risk of extruding the gasket into the flow of material producing increased risk of contamination.
Gylon Bio-Pro Gaskets are dimensionally stable and pre-stressed - controlled compression during manufacture ensures that the gasket will not intrude into the pipe boreline.
The need to re-tighten clamps, which is normally required as a result of creep relaxation of the gasket material, is reduced using Gylon Bio-Pro as it is compatible over a wide range of process temperatures from 5C to 180C.
The gaskets wide temperature compatibility and dimensional stability reduces the need for regular gasket changes when introducing different process chemicals.
Holding a single gasket type in stock also eliminates the risk of introducing incompatible gasket materials to the process.
