New literature from GPS PE Pipe Systems offers the utilities industry clear and updated guidance on the use of polyethylene pressure pipe systems, from design to installing and commissioning

GPS is a division of Glynwed Pipe Systems, an Aliaxis Company, and is dedicated to the manufacture and supply of polyethylene pipe systems for gas and water transportation in the utilities and industrial markets The 'Installation and Technical Guidelines' completely overhauls previous GPS PE Pipe Systems literature, in terms of technical information and presentation

It takes a logical path through the whole process, beginning with an overview of the GPS PE Pipe Systems product ranges for water and gas and concluding with system testing.

Sections on quality and environmental standards, material properties and pressure ratings are followed by health and safety instructions and handling and storage information.

However, the major part of the book deals with pipe installation procedures and jointing techniques for all products, including the Standard PE100 (Excel) and PE80 (MDPE) ranges, Protecta-Line for contaminated land and the latest, peelable pipe system, Secura-Line.

Some new and enhanced features include information on automatic butt fusion, squeeze-off data, surge capacity, flow characteristics and structural calculations relating to BS EN 1295 long-term performance of buried pipelines.

GPS PE Pipe Systems have compiled the guidelines with system designers, distributors and installers in mind and it is a useful reference for all involved with polyethylene pipeline systems in the water, gas and industrial environment.

The advantages of polyethylene pressure pipe systems have been appreciated for many years.

The toughness of polyethylene, its immunity from corrosion, constant superior hydraulic properties, excellent resistance to chemicals and comparative lightness promote its use in situations where cost-effective and reliable systems are required for gas, water and sewage applications.
