GE Druck, a unit of GE Industrial Systems and a leading provider of precision pressure sensors and related test/calibration instruments, announced a new generation of advanced yet easy to use test tools.

These are designed to improve test and calibration efficiency for a wide range of industrial pressure and temperature applications.

From a palm held contoured casing to an intuitive menu driven interface backed by precision measurement technologies, these tools contain many application specific time saving features to provide a highly cost effective solution.

The versatile DPI 800 series is the result of 25 years experience in developing test and measurement instruments for use in the field, workshop and laboratory.

GE Druck calibrators are used throughout major industries such as Oil and Gas, chemical, pharmaceutical, utilities, defence, aerospace and automotive in addition to general manufacturing.

Nine models cover pressure and temperature parameters, dual function versions also provide additional facilities for measuring mA, supplying 24V power, testing switches and providing HART compatibility.

Pressure models DPI 800/802 use the company's Intelligent Digital Output Sensor (IDOS) technology to provide 0.05% FS accuracy from 0 to 50C including one year stability (0.01% FS precision optional) and a choice of 22 pressure ranges are available from 25 mbar to 200 bar.

The DPI 811/812 temperature variants provide RTD measure/source capability with 2,3,4 wire auto-detection for quick identification of sensor and wiring faults.

The DPI 820, a dual input data logging thermometer and the DPI 821/822 thermocouple calibrators use advanced cold junction compensation (patent pending) to keep errors within 0.2C, even for a 30C rapid change in ambient temperature.

For increased flexibility, IDOS plug-in measurement modules expand the range of any IDOS compatible instrument and can convert a temperature calibrator into a fully featured pressure indicator.

Compact and lightweight, the DPI 800 is just 18cm long and weighs less than 500 grams.

Combined with a large backlit graphic display, simple keypad and weatherproof enclosure it is quick and easy to use, even in adverse conditions.

Example applications range from simple measurement and monitoring, indicator/controller and recorder testing to transmitter calibration, process loop set-up, switch/trip and safety system testing amongst many others.
