GE Sensing, a leading provider of precision sensing products, systems and services, showcased a display of products at the UK national sensors, measurement and Instrumentation show, MTEC 2006.

Long established industry names such as Druck, General Eastern, Kaye, NovaSensor, Panametrics, Pressurements, Si Pressure Instruments, Thermometrics, Ruska and Unomat are now under one name: GE Sensing.

A major exhibitor at MTEC 2006, GE Sensing unites the technological innovation and experience of industry leaders in the design and manufacture of advanced measurement and sensor-based solutions into one world-class business.

This new company, with operations around the world, offers a broad range of products and services that help customers solve challenges and drive productivity.

GE Sensing precision sensors, instruments and systems measure temperature, pressure, liquid level, humidity, gas concentration and flow rate for diverse applications in global industries ranging from energy, water and environmental to automotive, aerospace, medical and pharmaceutical.

Using technologies such as infrared detection, ultrasonic and MEMS, GE helps customers monitor, protect, calibrate, control and validate their critical processes and applications.

The GE Sensing display features debut appearance of the multifunction DPI 880, a lightweight and simple to use hand-held instrument for high accuracy electrical, temperature and pressure/flow tests.

The Panametrics PT878 portable flow meter and Druck 1830 liquid level sensor will be demonstrated in action and the Druck 1500 series will also be on show, based on widely proven piezoresistive silicon and modular ASIC technologies for highly cost effective OEM pressure measurements.

The next generation relative humidity/temperature transmitter, the GE HumiTrac, is an automation/HVAC market sensor as well as serving general-purpose RH monitoring applications.

Also on display is a selection of other GE products used for measurement and test applications by customers in many industries.

GE Sensing is actively pursuing a total solutions service philosophy to support all related customer needs and requirements.

In addition to its Leicester/UK based European headquarters and manufacturing facilities, a new European multi-site services operation has also been established which includes an extensive product rental fleet, fully accredited test and calibration centres and comprehensive on-line or factory based training courses.
