Valve and pump compression packings are critically important to making industrial installations fully compliant with the 1996 IPPC Directive, which will be obligatory by 30th October 2007

The 1996 Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) Directive from the European Council requires designated industrial installations to be fully compliant and authorised by permit to operate by 30th October 2007.

Valve and pump compression packings are of critical importance if these requirements are to be achieved.

Gee Graphite has developed a portable Waterjet packing extractor to remove worn, dried out, carbonised and rock hard packing without damage to valve stem, pump shaft or housing.

The system uses micro bursts of a focused water jet at high pressures to remove valve stem packing, pump packing and flange gasketing materials of all kinds.

It is especially suited for use where asbestos is known to be present as the hydration eliminates hazardous dust particles.

The equipment is designed for totally safe use by a single operator and is so portable and effective that the unpacking of 30 valves in a day is not uncommon.

The savings in downtime and labour costs can be significant.

There is also peace of mind in knowing that the process is entirely non destructive to valve and pump components, leaving them in the optimum condition for resealing.

In addition to the full packing extraction service a repacking service using the latest Geegraf Graphite and PTFE braided packing and Geegraf die-formed rings is available.

The Gee Graphite Portable Waterjet Packing Extractor can be hired with either a trained operator or if you wish to use your own personnel, on site training is available.

The system can also be purchased and is supplied with a comprehensive training and maintenance programme.
