Proficy Process Systems product launch

A GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms UK product story
Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team May 24, 2007

GE Fanuc Automation has confirmed that it is on target to release its Proficy Process Systems product for hybrid and continuous Process Control in early July 2007

Proficy Process Systems is designed to deliver value to hybrid and continuous customers in industries including life sciences, food and beverage, consumer packaged goods, ethanol, oil and gas, power and energy, milled products and water/wastewater.

GE Fanuc serves tens of thousands of customers in these industries today.

"We understand that the primary value customers are looking for, from their control systems, is results," said Steve Ryan, GE Fanuc Director of Process Solutions: "GE Fanuc, along with our highly-qualified system integrators, provides the experience and expertise required to produce those results".

Companies today are also no longer satisfied with control systems that simply control process loops.

They need the freedom to grow, expand, and change the systems with their businesses as well as bridge the gap which had existed between their automation systems and their business systems.

GE Fanuc is delivering a contemporary solution based on many of its well-proven technologies, along with technologies from other industry leading technology partners.

"Proficy Process Systems is unique in the market," continued Ryan: "We are introducing a system that allows the user to choose the fieldbus technology they want to use.

Our PAC Systems controllers allow users to perform continuous, discrete, and even motion control in the same controller at the same time.

And we provide the ability to choose the programming language you want to work in function block, structured text, or ladder.

On top of that, add the ability to choose from either of our leading HMI/SCADA visualisation technologies iFIX or Cimplicity, and you have a very powerful and flexible control system.
