Compact evaporator delivers top performance

A Genevac product story
Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Jul 4, 2007

The EZ-2 Series centrifugal evaporator from Genevac, world leader in solvent removal technologies, uniquely combines top performance and high sample safety in a compact benchtop unit

Similar in size to a rotary evaporator, the innovative design of the EZ-2 Series presents real advantages within parallel synthesis and medicinal chemistry, as well as for general-purpose solvent removal needs in life science laboratories.

Using the most advanced proven technology in evaporation science, the EZ-2 Series is able to evaporate solvents in typically half the time of other evaporator designs.

Years of experience in solvent evaporation and sample purification have culminated in a smart sample evaporator that saves you time and delivers optimal performance and solvent recovery.

At the same time, technological innovations such as SampleShield and Dri-Pure guard against the possibility of overheating or losing valuable samples through solvent bumping.

Running an EZ-2 Series evaporator is as simple as 1,2,3.

Just load your samples, select maximum safe temperature for samples, select solvent type and hit start.

Offering true unattended operation capability an EZ-2 Series evaporator requires no user training, even a beginner can competently use the system within 5 minutes.

Solvents collect in an insulated, plastic coated glass vessel, enabling the user to see the progress of evaporation and determine when the trap should be emptied.

Requiring no defrosting the glass vessel is removed by a quarter turn, allowing the solvent to be poured directly into the waste container.

The vessel is replaced with a quarter turn, and the EZ-2 is ready to run again.

No fuss, no long waits, no mess - just clean, simple and easy.

Each EZ-2 Series evaporator has been designed to concentrate or completely dry samples.

The system will accommodate a wide selection of sample holders enabling evaporation from most common sample container formats including round-bottom flasks up to 500ml, tubes up to 160mm long, custom reaction blocks and shallow or deep-well microplates.

To meet the need of the many life science companies switching their compound generation programmes from serial chemistry to parallel synthesis, an EZ-2 Series evaporator is also able to take tubes, flasks and vials directly from the synthesis process, eliminating a manual handling step, increasing recoveries and removing the chance of cross contamination.

Requiring no peripherals for operation the compact EZ-2 fits neatly onto a laboratory bench or into a fume hood.

All key components on the robust and reliable system are user serviceable further lowering the cost of ownership.
