Gefran at Drives and Controls 2008

Gefran UK (Stand D50) will showcase its new SieiDrive ADV200 AC inverter family with FOC (field oriented control) at the Drives and Controls Expo

Aimed at system builders and OEMs, the next generation range covers power ratings from 0.75kW to 1.5MW and can be configured for open loop or closed loop speed feedback as well as flux vector or V/f control.

The modular design allows up to three option cards for complete application flexibility - users can choose and combine any variety of encoder interfaces, various fieldbus interfaces and I/O expansion cards and mix drives together in any combination.

Fieldbus options include CANopen, DeviceNet, Profibus-DP as well as Gefran's own GD-Net real time fast Ethernet.

The drive includes an easy-to-use keypad with a backlit 4-line text display for direct parameter programming.

The Gefran GF-eXpress configuration tool with an integrated oscilloscope is also available for fast set-up and application commissioning.

For more advanced applications, the ADV200 includes an IEC61131-3 sequential PLC with Gefran MDPLC advanced development software.

Gefran will also profile its GF Vedo high performance industrial computers and operator panels for control and display, highlighting the range as a single tool for HMI and PLC.

The extensive range covers screen sizes from 3.5 to 15inches, with touch screens, integrated or non-integrated keyboards, integrated and remote I/O and customised solutions.

With IEC61131-3, support for Gefran GD-Net real time Ethernet and many other protocols, the GF Vedo family will help to reduce development timescales and support application scalability for automation systems of all sizes.

Drives and Controls 2008 will be held at the NEC in the week commencing 21 April.
