The GDS touchscreen display provides endless promotion, information and brand-awareness opportunities for various industries including retail, banking, travel and leisure.
The GDS new touchscreen display has integrated optical imaging technology which enables the user to interact with the display by touch.
The technology is unique as it recognises where the user places their finger on the screen by utilising an infra-red illuminated frame and custom line-scan cameras to determine touchpoint.
The touch can be registered up to 1mm before physical contact on the screen surface.
This new touchscreen LCD Display is far superior to similar products on the market as the absence of an overlay ensures that there is no on-screen degradation, guaranteeing a high visibility display.
Also, any object and not just a finger can create 'the touch'; even the off-screen area can be touch-enabled; and the display is not susceptible to scratching.
This creates a robust solution for even the most challenging environments.
Ian Hudson, Sales and Marketing Director of GDS says, "This new touchscreen display is totally unique in the touchscreen marketplace, which is forecast to represent USD2.4 billion by 2005.
Unlike displays with a touchscreen overlay, this new GDS and Nextwindow touchscreen display will not degrade, making it higher performance and more cost-effective than its competitors".
GDS is a world-leading manufacturer of industrial display solutions for a number of industries worldwide including kiosks, retail, advertising, entertainment, banking, marine, process and transport.
