GDS attendance at SID 2005
Global Display Solutions, market leader in the design and manufacture of industrial displays, will be exhibiting at the Society for Information Display (SID) conference 2005, May 22-27 in Boston
Global Display Solutions (GDS), market leader in the design and manufacture of industrial displays, will be exhibiting at the Society for Information Display (SID) conference 2005, to take place May 22-27, Boston, Massachusetts, in booth #701.
GDS is offering all SID attendees the opportunity to view its range of products including the Piezo Inverter, its 37" and 46" Large Screen TFTs, 37" Touchscreen LCD Display, the Optically-Enhanced TFT Display and the Mitra sunlight readable display.
The new GDS Optically-Enhanced TFT is specifically designed for use in environments when ambient lighting conditions are high, such as public information kiosks and flight and rail information displays.
This innovative TFT display, which forms part of the recently launched Industrial Range, has enhanced brightness and contrast, making the screen a lot easier to read in comparison with alternative TFT displays on the market.
The GDS 'first to market' sunlight readable display, the Mitra, will be available at SID 2005.
The Mitra is a competitively priced, commercially viable high brightness display which is stable in design and utilises proven technology.
GDS innovative Touchscreen LCD Display is the result of a collaboration with NextWindow, a designer and developer of optical imaging technologies in the field of touch recognition.
The display provides endless promotion, information and brand-awareness opportunities and utilises integrated optical imaging technology which enables the user to interact with the display by touch.
The technology recognizes where the user places their finger on the screen by utilizing an infra-red illuminated frame and custom line-scan cameras to determine touchpoint.
The touch can be registered up to 1mm before physical contact on the screen surface.
GDS new industrial range of LCD Displays, which will be present at SID, are available in sizes 6.4" to 19" and have been future-proofed to avoid obsolescence and to ensure upgrade compatibility and product continuity.
The display panels have also been improved in terms of brightness and contrast.
GDS will also be conducting a poster presentation at SID 2005 on its innovative Piezo Inverter 'Piezoelectric Transformers for CCFL Power Supply'.
This presentation will provide the opportunity for interaction between GDS and SID delegates.
The Piezo Inverter is designed for use in multi-lamp backlight systems such as LCD TVs, high brightness LCD solutions and headrest displays.
The GDS Piezo Inverter balanced output is the 'first of its kind', giving exceptional uniformity and dimming performance.
It has improved reliability, safety and EMI performance compared with existing wire wound component systems.
This is due to a reduced overall size and lower component count.
GDS is a world-leading manufacturer of industrial display solutions for a number of industries worldwide including transport, kiosk, banking, marine, process retail and leisure.
