Prior to this, Greenstar bought the Firbank Chiltern commercial waste, recycling and processing business in Dunstable at the end of March, and recently began running its flagship MRF at Aldridge, West Midlands.
This is one of the largest MRFs in the UK, processing up to 300,000 tonnes pa of co-mingled and segregated recyclables.
LPP handles around 45,000 tonnes of recyclables annually, collecting paper, card, plastics, glass and metal containers, as well as confidential paper-based data, from commercial customers.

Growing interest leads to website update
The growing interest in air quality monitoring from the research, university and scientific sectors has prompted Enviro Technology to update its website with these customers in mind
Last October, it secured a two year local authority contract to process around 20,000 tonnes per annum of co-mingled domestic recyclables through a basic MRF, and LPP also provides a secure data destruction service.
Greenstar UK CEO Ian Wakelin said that buying this well-established business will enable Greenstar to attract more commercial and local authority customers in the region, and so feed increasing volumes of materials to Aldridge.
"LPP gives us the opportunity to further develop our combined waste and recycling service which is used by hundreds of commercial and industrial customers across the UK.
It's popular because it helps companies to reduce waste and therefore cost and to meet their environmental obligations by recycling more," explained Wakelin: "Our experience is that co-mingled collection schemes drive up recycling because they are so easy to use".
He said that LPP will be an important factor in marketing Greenstar municipal services expertise to local authorities in the region.
Greenstar subsidiary Verdant handles recycling and waste for Melton Borough Council, helping it achieve a near-50% recycling rate, and also works for authorities in South Staffs, Cannock and Stratford.
Wakelin added: "We have several more acquisitions and developments in mind which will help Greenstar progress to becoming the UK's leading recycling-led business offering integrated collection and processing services that help Britain to waste less and recycle more".
Leicester Paper Processors was set up 40 years ago by Keith and Ian Marshall, and the current Marshall family managers will stay on post-acquisition to support integration of the business with Greenstar.
LPP includes a three acre freehold site with 50,000 sq/ft covered space, plus a further two leasehold acres.
