20 April 2009 - Greenstar has received a Queen's Award for Enterprise in the innovation category for its work in processing waste plastics into hygienic recycled material.
Greenstar's recycled HDPE plastic output is supplied to British, Belgian, Italian, French and Dutch manufacturers, with around 60 per cent of output contracted to UK plastic milk-bottle manufacturer, Nampak.
The remainder goes for remanufacture into other food products, like chicken and mushroom trays, and cosmetics containers.
