GarrettCom Industrial Ethernet training in January
The GCNA (GarrettCom Certified Network Associate) course equips engineers with the knowledge to specify, install and maintain Ethernet networks in industrial applications
GarrettCom Europe has announced registration for its January industrial Ethernet training course, with attractive discounts for delegates booking early.
The GCNA (GarrettCom Certified Network Associate) course is designed to give engineers a thorough grounding in Industrial Ethernet.
The courses are hardware-independent and manufacturer-independent, and have been developed by experts in the technology to equip engineers with all the knowledge they need to specify, install and maintain Ethernet networks in industrial applications.
The next UK course breaks down over two days from 29-30 January, with the first day covering the basic principles and the second day looking at more advanced aspects.
Topics of study include networks, networking devices, Ethernet, TCP/IP, resilience, management, IGMP, 802.1x, EAP, VLANs and QoS.
Delegates completing both days will receive a GCNA certificate - recognised certification from a leader in the field as proof of the knowledge acquired.
The course provides instructor-led training with theoretical coverage in the morning sessions, with practical laboratories giving hands-on experience with current industrial Ethernet equipment in the afternoons.
All delegates receive a bound, printed copy of the course material and a memory stick containing animated slides presented as part of the course.
GarrettCom Europe marketing manager David Moss comments: "Industrial Ethernet is a far more complex and mission critical Ethernet than you'd find in the IT environment.
A result of the rapid rise of industrial Ethernet is that many engineers have suddenly found they need a far greater background knowledge of the technology.
Recognising that well trained engineers are one of the most significant factors in the success of a company, we have developed the GCNA course to provide the critical grounding that today's engineers require".
There are no prerequisites for taking the GCNA course.
A basic working knowledge of industrial communications and applications would be useful, but is not essential.
