The new Controller - all for one, and one for all!
Hach Lange have launched the SC1000 Controller, designed to communicate with up to eight different water industry monitoring sensors simultaneously: whatever the function, or connection protocol
A short-list of potential suppliers was created and each of them was visited and assessed by a team of experts.
Potential suppliers and their equipment were measured against a number of criteria including specification, quality, reliability, ease of use, price, references, previous experience, after-sales service and technical capability.
Commenting on the award, Severn Trent's Peter Lock said, "Hach Lange were chosen because they scored highly in the set of criteria against which all potential suppliers were evaluated.
I congratulate them on their success and look forward to working with them closely over the next three years" The turbidimeter 1720E is one of Hach Lange's most popular products, and the manufacturer estimates that this meter currently commands approximately 50% of the UK market.
Darin Stell, who is in charge of the Hach Lange business in the UK, is obviously delighted with the award, commenting, "The 1720E is very easy to install, it has its own datalogger, and it is highly accurate and reliable.
It is no surprise that Severn Trent chose this instrument, particularly since it can be used in conjunction with the ever popular SC100 and SC1000 transmitters." The Purchasing Agreement for portable and laboratory equipment relates to the supply of colorimeters and spectrophotometers for use both in the field and in the laboratory.
These instruments will be used to measure parameters such as phosphate, nitrate, turbidity, fluoride, chlorine, aluminium, iron, manganese, lead, colour and TOC.
A transportable version of the Nitratax is also included in the agreement to facilitate accurate nitrate measurement, without the need for consumables, at both clean water and wastewater locations.
As a result of these two agreements, in relation to the instruments highlighted above, Severn Trent staff (and its contractors, in the case of turbidity) will now purchase both new and replacement instruments from Hach Lange.
