Hach Lange launches portable water sampler
The Buhler 1000 portable water sampler from Hach Lange has received MCerts approval and is therefore suitable for compliance monitoring applications.
Commenting on the success of the events, Darin Stell, who is responsible for Hach Lange in the UK, said " We have recently been involved in a number of wastewater applications in which major cost savings have been produced as a result of process improvement initiatives.
The purpose of the seminars was to ensure that the information on how to achieve these improvements is dispersed as widely as possible.
Naturally, we were delighted that each seminar was fully booked".
The presentations covered topical subjects such as dissolved oxygen control, ammonium set point control of DO, chemical and biological phosphate removal, and de-nitrification.
Case studies were employed in order to illustrate the key issues.
For example, Steve Langlois from Anglia Water outlined his experiences at Dunstable WwTW in which aeration costs were reduced through DO set-point control with ammonium measurement.
A further case study at Burnley WwTW featured the monitoring of phosphate in order to regulate chemical dosing and ensure compliance with a phosphorus discharge consent.
Sarah Blayds, who organised the workshops for Hach Lange said "Further seminars are planned for the future and invitations will be issued to all those that have registered to receive our Newsletter (via the website).
The wastewater seminar will be repeated at the Marriott Hotel in Swindon on Wednesday 30th November 2005.
In order to reserve a place please contact me at Hach Lange".
