Hale Hamilton Ltd, working in partnership with a number of Military clients, has successfully developed a range of Portable Charging Units, which have rationalised and modernised existing Ground Support Equipment.

The design brief provided was to produce a lightweight, compact in size, robust, reliable unit with high operational availability.

The Hale Hamilton solution includes the use of a carbon fibre/epoxy resin composite gas cylinder, housed within a light but strong aluminium case, resulting in a Portable Charging Unit the size and weight of a small suitcase.

Yet this delivers a supply at up to 280 bar equivalent to 1800 litres at STP.

Incorporated within each unit are all valves, regulators and gauges required to supply high pressure gas safely, accurately and reliably within an easy to use, maintainable system.

The two primary variants are the supply of Nitrogen at 35 bar for Aircraft Tyre inflation and Oxygen at 220 bar for the recharging of on board breathing systems.

Naturally, these parameters can be amended to suit the specific application requirements.

Other applications include; commercial airline ground support, vehicle tyre inflation, pressure instrument calibration, purging and blanketing, powering of air tools and the charging of gas powered sporting guns.
