Quality certification for UV disinfection firm

UV disinfection specialist Hanovia has been awarded the ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System (QMS) by the British Standards Institute (BSI)

The QMS recognises the company commitment to quality in its research, development and manufacturing.

Hanovia is one of the first British companies to achieve the QMS.

The company has also been awarded certification in the USA by NSF International, an independent public health safety company, for its Photon medium pressure UV system.

The Photon is the first UV disinfection system to be certified in the USA under NSF-50 (swimming pools and spas).

In addition, Hanovia has received certification for its UV systems by another US testing house, Underwriters Laboratories (UL).

UL regulates and controls product safety and its certification is virtually mandatory when an American company makes a capital purchase.

Commenting on the awards, the Hanovia Quality Assurance Manager, John Ellis said, "These are major achievements which send a clear message to our customers: firstly, that we are listening to them, and secondly, that they can have continued confidence in the quality of our products and service".

Hanovia, part of Halma Group, was established in 1924 and is one of the world's leading providers of medium pressure UV technology for water, effluent, air and surface disinfection.

It is the only UV system supplier with its own research and development and lamp manufacturing facility, and is therefore uniquely positioned to provide custom-made solutions for most disinfection problems.

Hanovia has more than 40,000 UV systems installed in over 100 countries.
