Harting launches solutions for industrial Ethernet

At Drives and Controls 2003, Harting is launching a range of IP 67 'plug and play' fast Ethernet switches and inter-connectivity solutions

The range of Ethernet products being offered by Harting covers all the relevant international standards being developed on both sides of the Atlantic by organisations such as PNO (Profibus Nutzer Organisation), ODVA (Open Devicenet Vendor Association), IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) and IAONA (Industrial Automation Open Networking Alliance).

The Harting range of connectors for industrial Ethernet applications includes RJ 45, M 12 and hybrid variants for IP67 and IP20 environmental ratings.

The new RJ Industrial range uses Harting patented HARAX rapid termination technology, in which the connector provides a gastight termination for both solid and stranded wire without special tooling.

The RJ Industrial range can be used with AWG 22 cable, which is increasingly being adopted for Industrial Ethernet systems.
