Shielded M12 connectors for industrial
Ethernet
The new M12-L connectors use the Harting HARAX rapid termination technique for ease and speed of installation, and feature robust metal construction for use in a harsh industrial environment
The new M12-L connectors use Harting HARAX rapid termination technique for ease and speed of installation, and feature robust metal construction for use in a harsh industrial environment, with protection to IP65 or IP67 The screened connectors are 4-pin D-coded types, as specified in IEC standards for industrial Ethernet

Connector housing offers added protection
The new Han 3 A Inox from Harting is an industrial connector housing made of high-grade steel to provide protection against corrosion, for use in food manufacture and the related process industries
They offer a working voltage of up to 32 V and current of up to 4 A, and are suitable for wire gauges from 0.25 to 0.34 mm2 (AWG 24 to AWG 22 stranded).
The Harting HARAX technique eliminates soldering or screw terminations, allowing cables and connectors to be assembled in a fraction of the time required for conventional methods.
The resulting savings in time and labour costs are particularly relevant to shielded cable installations, where the addition of a shielded braid to provide total integrity places additional demands on the installation process.
With the HARAX rapid termination technology, the individual strands in a cable are inserted into a splicing ring and cut to length.
The shield is attached to the metal housing via a sliding ring, avoiding time-intensive working steps.
The individual strands are then terminated securely using insulation displacement technology with the aid of a union nut.
Installation time is typically reduced to a third of what was formerly required.
In addition, the robust housing of the M12-L connector will absorb any forces and torque that may arise.
