The Harting Technology Group has established a new division known as Industrial Communications and Power Networks (ICPN) Division

This new division builds on the established Harting expertise in industrial interconnection systems to provide a complete range of solutions for communications and control in the industrial automation and process control environments In the UK, Harting has appointed Graham Traill - formerly networking specialist with the Harting Industrial Product Division - as Manager of the ICPN Division

At the same time, Guy Denis - whose previous experience includes positions with Hirschmann, Siemens and Rockwell - has joined as Southern Region Sales Manager for ICPN.

The portfolio of the new division includes interfaces between industrial automation equipment and sensors and monitoring systems, communications within machines and control systems via a range of networking standards including Ethernet, AS-i, Profibus and CAN-Open, and links between the industrial and office computing environments.

Products covered by the ICPN division include industrial Ethernet switches and hubs, 'in between' products to link IP67 industrial and IP20 'office' systems, M8 and M12 connectors and their associated subassemblies, RJ Industrial connectors for both copper and fibre-optic communications, and a range of network devices for providing distributed power to the network infrastructure.
