PT100 transmitter is very stable, highly accurate
The brand new Inor PT100 temperature sensor transmitter from Hawco is very stable, highly accurate and PC programmable, simplifying installation and removing calibration headaches
Now launched in the UK by specialist controls components distributor, Hawco Controls, this new highly accurate and stable, easy-to-use Inor C201 analogue transmitter is for use with Pt 100 RTD resistive temperature detector (RTD) sensors.
The C201 takes a resistive signal from the Pt100 sensor element, amplifies the signal and transmits it to a remote PLC or control panel location within a radius of up to a few 100s of metres.
More, this low cost device is PC-programmable, so calibration is a very simple process achieved in seconds.
The low profile and 3g weight also simplify installation.
Delivering a fully temperature-linear 4 to 20mA output and accurate to +/-0.1degC - stable to +/-0.1 percent of range per year - the analogue Pt100 sensor transmitter is quickly configured via ConSoft, Inor easy-to-use Windows-based software.
The C201 accepts inputs from standard two and three wire Pt100 sensor interfaces, including IEC60751, JIS C1604 and several US standards.
Designed for harsh environments, the device is tested for vibration up to 10G.
Simon Dugdale, Applications Manager at Hawco, commented: "The C201 temperature sensor transmitter combines fantastic features that are only available in units two or three times the price.
Stability and accuracy are the key criteria for control system designers, and the PC-programming functionality makes installation and maintenance very simple".
A ConSoft window lets the user set all parameters from a PC such as sensor type, measuring range, sensor failure action and error correction.
Matching to a calibrated temperature sensor to maximise accuracy can be easily performed by entering the sensor errors in the low and high ends of the measuring range.
Further, the configuration can be read or edited without a separate power supply by simply connecting the C201 to the USB port of a PC.
Typical applications are found in medicine, hospitals, factories, pharmaceutical industries, food and beverage industries, packaging, schools and building monitoring.
Key specifications include: 0.5mA typical sensor current; a maximum wire resistance of 20ohm per wire; response time (90 percent) of 50ms; a permissible load of 700ohm at 24VDC; and polarity protected power supply of 8.5 to 32VDC.
