Growing H+V event looks to future with
confidence
H+V07 enjoyed a second successful show at the NEC recently, with a record number of exhibitors unveiling a diverse range of products under the show's theme of "Sustainable Solutions For The Future"
H+V07 enjoyed a second successful show at the Birmingham NEC recently, with a record number of exhibitors unveiling a diverse range of H+V products under the show's theme of "Sustainable Solutions For The Future" The event was hailed a great success by organisers Emap Maclaren, who confirmed that it was 70% bigger than the inaugural event in 2005, attracted more visitors and is well set for 2009 with pre-reserved bookings for space at H+V09 standing at 55%

Over 120 exhibiting companies used H+V07 to unveil a diverse range of H+V product and service innovations.
Taking up some 3800m2 of floor space in Hall 19, the exhibition stands allowed the high proportion of quality visitors attending the show an opportunity to get to grips with the very latest technology.
As the national event for the heating and ventilating industry, H+V07 attracted an audience comprising consultants, contractors and installers, with an overall attendance figure of 7029 (pre audit figure), up nearly 7% on H+V05.
The seminars, running throughout the show, were well attended and enthusiastically received by participants.
An impressive line-up of leading experts addressed the big issues facing H+V contractors, consultants and end-users.
Topics included making money from sustainability, legionella compliance, asbestos regulations, renewables and planning regulations, biomass technology, the Competent Persons Scheme for the domestic heating industry, the CIS Scheme and the Low Carbon Building Programme.
Another popular feature of H+V07 was the interactive Skills Centre and demonstration area.
Installers, engineers and contractors benefited from a programme of free practical advice and hands-on demonstration sessions.
Under the guidance of industry experts, visitors refreshed their installation and servicing techniques and received an update on the technical, legislative and health and safety topics at the heart of their daily work.
Sessions on sustainability were particularly popular, including a session on fitting a ground sourced heat pump and a session on solar thermal installation.
Meanwhile, the first day of the show saw FETA director general, Cedric Sloan, accept an award on behalf of the Roman Hypocaust underfloor heating system, in an informal ceremony held in the VIP Lounge.
The epoch-making technology, advocated by Cedric Sloan, had been voted the top product of all time in the H+V07 Hall of Fame initiative.
An on-line vote via the H+V07 website allowed the industry to choose which landmark equipment had made the most impact on the development of the handv sector.
The online campaign attracted 900 votes, to which the Roman Hypocaust system proved the clear winner.
All the Hall of Fame nominations were displayed in the special 'Hall of Fame' area on the exhibition floor allowing visitors to view them during the show.
H+V07 was supported by some of the biggest names in the sector including Baxi Potterton, Daikin, Ferroli, Flaktwoods, Lochinvar, MHS Boilers, Powrmatic, Systemair, Vaillant, Viessmann and Vokera.
It was also fully supported by the industry's leading trade associations, CIBSE, FETA the HVCA and ICOM Energy Association.
Emap Maclaren has announced that H+V09 will take place from 24 - 26 February 2009 and will continue to run alongside the well established RAC (Refrigeration and Air Conditioning) exhibition, helping to ensure that H+V09 remains a powerful draw for all those involved in the building services sector.
