The units enable smooth current output without resonance and open up new application areas for the Beckhoff I/O system.

The slimline PWM output stages for two motor coils are located in the bus terminal together with two inputs for limit switches.
The KL2531 can be adjusted to the motor and the application by changing just a few parameters.
64-fold micro-stepping ensures particularly quiet and precise motor operation.
In many applications, integrated zero-speed monitoring makes an encoder system or limit switch unnecessary.
With a peak current of 1.5A per phase, a large number of drives and axes can be accommodated.
The KL2541 bus terminal is just 24mm wide and is intended for stepper motors with a medium performance range comparable to that of small servo drives.
With a peak current of 5A, the KL2541 can generate an impressive torque of 5Nm in conjunction with a standard motor.
The supply voltage up to 50V DC enables high speeds with good torque and therefore high mechanical output.
The PWM output stages cover a wide range of voltages and currents.
Together with two inputs for limit switches, they are located in the Bus Terminal.
The KL2541 effectively delivers an inexpensive small servo axis.
The KL2541 stepper motor terminal can be adjusted to the motor used by changing just a few parameters.
Mark Bates, sales and marketing manager at Hayes, commented, "Despite the widespread use of servomotors, stepper motors are still very popular and continue to be developed in order to reduce costs and physical sizes, increase torque and improve reliability.
Our new stepper motor terminals significantly reduce engineering development time with interface programming no longer required." Complex motion systems using the new terminals can be controlled using the Beckhoff TwinCAT automation software.
Like other Beckhoff axes components, the new stepper bus terminals can be integrated via the TwinCAT System Manager - allowing stepper motors to be used like other servo axes.
