HBM extends range of torque flanges

A HBM UK product story

HBM has improved the operational range of its T40 torque flange with two nominal (rated) torques of 500Nm and 3kNm.

Most torque measurement applications in test benches can now be easily covered when combined with the two existing flanges of nominal (rated) torques of 1kNm and 2kNm.

The torque flange is designed with a short overall length to allow simplified integration into a test bench.

In addition, the flanges are relatively insensitive to parasitic loads, allowing machine elements to be directly mounted without needing additional universal joint shafts or couplings.

The T40 is designed for rugged operation, and is maintenance- and wear-free as it has no slip rings or bearings, making it highly reliable while reducing test bench downtime.

Digital data transfer between the rotor and stator ensures reliable, error-free data acquisition and transmission even under difficult ambient conditions, such as electromagnetic interference or temperature variation.

The measured torque is output via a voltage or frequency output.

Typical applications for the torque flange are in the automotive industry on motor, transmission or chassis test benches, and the T40 can also be used for testing electric motors, pumps and generators.
