SMS Alert is compatible with numbers of RS-232 AT supported GSM modems and also PCMCIA modems such as Nokia D211.
SMS Alert 1.0 is Windows based software which enables the USB IO device to check for state changes of connected devices.
SMS Alert is a combination of USB I/O data acquisition and GSM hardware connected together by the Windows software SMS Alert 1.0.
The software SMS Alert 1.0 is interactive, which means that the user can reply to alarm messages received.
In the event of an alarm, SMS Alert 1.0 sends out SMS messages to all the alarm contacts on the given channel.
This means that a list of employees will be contacted, but one is only needed to handle the alarm.
Therefore SMS Alert allows the contacted employees to acknowledge an alarm and on a successful alarm acknowledge, the programme will send out cancellations to the contacted employees which are not needed to handle the alarm situation.
One of the main benefits from using the SMS Alert is when you are running an automated and unmanned production.
This will give you the possibility of always monitoring your production equipment, with the purpose of reducing downtime.
Other areas where SMS Alert has been used, is to alert service personnel when the machine is ready for changeover or regarding service issues, at automatic feeding machinery in the agriculture industry or simply to alert personnel when the machinery breaks down.
The system is very easy to setup.
It only needs to be plugged in to the USB port of the computer running the software SMS Alert 1.0.
The power is supplied by the USB connection and the connection to the external machinery is done by a 50 pin connector with a screw terminal.
This makes the system very simple to install on almost any machinery.
You have 32 IO channels at your disposal, giving you the option for having user configurable output or not.
Just choose the package you need and everything is very simple.
The system can be extended with software for logging your process data and can be used as an effective monitoring tool to ensure maximum efficiency.
With a starting price at around GBP400, SMS Alert offers machine monitoring for a price that everyone can afford to pay.
