The countdown has begun to the welding, fabrication and joining innovations showcase of 2003 at Weldex, with more than 30 companies launching new products and services and many major developments in the industry being announced Weldex 2003, the UK Premier event for welding, joining, cutting and fabrication companies is now less than two weeks away

The event will be rife with exhibitors displaying innovative technologies for the welding industry.

Orbimatic GmbH (Stand 4610), manufacturer of orbital welding systems will be unveiling a major new product said to be revolutionising orbital welding.

In addition to the range of new MIG guns on show by American Torch Tip (ATTC) (Stand 4532c), a new two piece power pin which enables easy gun adapatability will be on display.

EWM Hightec (Stands 4247 and 4313) will be showing the world's first Tetrix AC/DC machines with TIG synergetic operation.

ARC machines (Stand 4543), manufacturers of equipment for orbital welding of tube, pipe and tube-to-tubesheet will be launching their latest tube weld head, model 4-500.

A the forefront of state-of-the-art orbital pipe welding equipment, they will also be display the new Windows-based Model 415 power supply, model 52 pipe weld head and model 2 weld head.

Orbitec will be launching its new UK trading company at Weldex as well as a range of new equipment.

New orbital welding systems will be available complete in one unit for the first time.

The company is set to announce a major shift in the configuration of orbital welding systems and advanced developments in portability and integration.

Bode Positioners Stand 4654 will share the stand with its parent companies YPH and Kistler GmbH.

Standard equipment, such as rotators, positioners and column and booms (that are now fitted with accurate AC inverter control, across the range) will be fitted with such items as submerged arc welding equipment and the latest in laser tracking technology.

Kistler will also be exhibiting an SCM600 pipe profile machine capable of cutting 3 axis in either plasma or the oxy/fuel process.

YPH will be demonstrating the WiSC hand held surface camera for non destructive testing (NDT) of welds.

Neotronics will launch a new Zellweger Impact low maintenance gas detector.

The Impact portable multigas monitor is able to monitor and display up to four gases simultaneously.

These include flammable, oxygen, carbon monoxide and hydrogen sulphide gases.

Impact uses high specification sensors that are continually checked using patented Reflex technology to ensure safe, accurate and reliable measurements are always made.

Kocevar and Thermotron, Stand EU4 have developed and patented a special welding machine for welding stainless steel sinks for kitchens of different shapes and dimensions, which will be launched at Weldex.

Axxair, Stand 4541 has recently launched its latest model of orbital cutting machine, the biggest ever built machine of this type.

It has a capacity in diameter of 500 mm up to 785 mm and will cut stainless steel pipes, up to 9 mm thick for the shipbuilding industry.

Scott Health and Safety, Stand H58 will be announcing the launch of 'Procap', a new fully integrated headtop - combining head, eye, face, hearing, welding and respiratory protection in a single no compromise headpiece.

Swiss One Safety, in the Health and Safety Pavilion is displaying their range of lightweight polycarbonate safety spectacles for use in a range of welding applications.

Burny Phantom, Stand 4410 is announcing the introduction of the Burny Phantom numerical control.

This new PC-based control has a 10 inch TFT LCD touch screen, 1 GHz processor and Windows XP Embedded operating system.

The Phantom features an integrated operator console, which contains full process control functions for oxy-fuel, plasma and markers.

Corimpex, Stand No EU008 has now developed a CNC controlled beam welding line for the welding of fabricated I beams in the vertical mode.

This machine includes for the first time a CNC controlled tacking station prior to the beam being fed into the main welding fixture.

The result is that up to 30 percent of time has been saved over conventional machines which don't incorporate these time saving CNC controls.

Redman Controls and Electronics, Stand 46888 introduces a new system that includes the Redman Controls Video Seam Tracking system, which uses a Video Camera set to view the weld seam 1mm before the weld pool with a high magnification lens.

The camera and weld torch are carried together on a curved slide mounted traversing over the apex of the tube as it runs through the mill.

Abrasive Finishing Systems, Stand 4609 is inviting users to try the amazing new Finit-Easy.

Sometimes those little corners are just too important to miss!! Also being shown is the new FiniTube.

BF Entron, Stand 4721, has announced the Gold Award in October 2003 from Mustard for the best regeneration company.

The company changed its name from British Federal 12 months ago and is launching its new corporate product range and organisation for the first time at a major UK event.

Six new products are being launched this year including supervisory weld monitors, medium frequency (MF) welding inverters of up to 5000 Amps and a range of retrofit welding controls to replace the products of the former British Federal.

Bauromat, Stand 4612, a systems integrator, will be introducing a number of products and system solutions to the manufacturing industry.

The company will launch its range of Hi Arc and Hi Spot robotic welding cells, that can be supplied as standard cells or bespoke to a specific application.

Bauromat will also be introducing a wide range of resistance welding products including; pneumatic and servo hanging spot welding guns, range of pneumatic and servo robotic spot welding guns, pedestal welders and nut feeders.

Gedik Welding, Stand 4646 is announcing its development of a patent in packaging of all types of gas shielded arc welding wires in 50 kg Eco-packs.

The baskets are supplied either copper coated or copper free, they are very easy to use handle or carry and environment and nature friendly, as these baskets are completely recyclable.

Elmer Wallace Plansee, Stand 4740: the stand will feature the Plansee product range with focus on high performance, low toxicity TIG-welding electrodes, products for thermal spraying and the Antox range of pickling pastes and specialist cleaning solutions.

The company will unveil additions to its machinery range at the Show - more details at Weldex.

Liburdi Dimetrics, Stand 4739 is introducing at Weldex 2003 a completely new Orbital Power Supply.

The P300, a new Multiple Servo microprocessor controlled 300 Amp full function welding system is compatible with all Liburdi Dimetrics orbital weld heads and can be adapted for most commercially available weld heads.

Bosch Rexroth, Stands 6409 and 4442, is focussing on its PSI 6000 range of MF (medium frequency) welding controls and associated online PSQ 6000 quality assurance system, at Weldex 2003.
