Hima-Sella were recently awarded a contract to supply a combined Emergency Shutdown, Fire and Gas (FAS) Detection System and PLC Control System through Costain Oil, Gas and Process in the UK.

The systems are for incorporation onto the BNG Modular Active Effluent Treatment Project (MAETP) at the Hunterston A Power Station in West Kilbride, Scotland.

The FAS consisted of two networked MX1000 Addressable Fire Control systems mounted in a combined integrated control and safety system cabinet - along with various addressable call points, addressable sounders, and addressable multi sensor smoke and heat detectors.

The project also included installation on site.

The new systems supplied were also networked to the existing addressable FAS on site so that a plant wide FAS ring was developed.

Compliant to EN54 the equipment offers the highest degree of safety and reliability required in the critical area of nuclear power and re-processing.

Hima-Sella supply engineered solutions for safety, control and automation applications in the oil and gas, chemical, petrochemical, rail, steel and power industries, and have been in operation since 1974.

Further details, case studies etc can be found on the website.
