Stockport-based safety critical control specialist Hima-Sella has just been awarded a GBP130k contract to provide its unique and proven Tracklink II system to Network Rail

Following the Network Rail recent approval of Tracklink II, units will be installed as part of the Thameslink Programme, to enable Automatic Selective Door Operation on trains operating on routes where there are platforms that are too short The Tracklink II system transmits information to the train, informing it of the length of the platform that it is approaching, enabling the correct number of doors to be opened

A new development, Tracklink III, is due to be launched at Infrarail 2008, held at the Birmingham NEC in March, where Hima-Sella experts will be on stand 540 to answer questions about the system.

"Tracklink III will avoid any problems associated with power, maintenance and on-track installation by being a passive system that sends data to passing trains when interrogated," said Eddy Turnock, Sales and Marketing Director at Hima-Sella: "It should be cost-effective, easy to use and virtually maintenance free".
