Hima-Sella is organising the next HIMA Functional Safety - Safety Instrumented Systems - Training Course, which will take place at the Moorside Grange, Disley, Cheshire on the above dates

Successful completion of the course and examination will afford participants the highly respected title of Functional Safety Engineer.

The course addresses all phases of IEC 61508.

The Functional Safety course will be delivered by HIMA director, Mr Tino Vande Capelle who is qualified to 'Expert' level for functional safety.

Readers may already be familiar with his name as he is often invited to deliver safety presentations all over the world and is highly respected in the industry.

Brief course agenda details are as follows (detailed course content is available on request):.

* Introduction to functional safety.

* The basics of functional safety.

* Hazard and Risk Analysis.

* Planning the safety system.

* Hardware design.

* Software design.

* Certification and Proven In Use.

* Using The Safety System.

* Case studies.

* Wrap up.

The overall course cost is 2,000 Euros, which includes the exam and certification costs and eligibility requirements are as follows:.

* A minimum of 3 to 5 years in the field of Functional Safety.

* University degree or equivalent engineering experience or responsibilities certified by employer via letter.
