Matt, a graduate with a B Eng (Hons) degree in Mechanical Engineering left the company in 1998 to go travelling round the world, however his relationship with Hidrostal has continued throughout.

During his travelling he took up part-time employment with Weir Services Australia, where again he worked with Hidrostal pumps.

On returning to the UK he spent 15 months working in Ireland at the Thompson Group, again in association with Hidrostal.

Matt was then offered the position of Hidrostal Product Manager by Weir Services Australia and he and his wife moved backed to Australia in 2001.

As Product Manager for Weir Services Australia, Matt was responsible for all facets of their Hidrostal business with an annual turnover in excess of GBP1m+ .

He was the sales and technical engineer and often called on the expertise of Hidrostal UK to help with projects, as they offer Weir Services first-line support.

One of his major successes was with Brisbane City Council who purchased and installed 18 large Hidrostal wastewater pumps, at a total value of GBP750K.

As Engineering Manager, Matt will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Engineering Department and all engineering aspects of the future Hidrostal projects.

Said Robert Williams, Hidrostal Operations Director, ' We couldn't be happier to have Matt back as part of our management team.

It is very rare to find somebody outside the company who has so much experience and knowledge of Hidrostal pumps and the waste water industry.

We are very pleased he has decided to return to the UK! - He will be a true asset to the Company'.

Matt is excited to be returning to his roots and is looking forward to using his experience and expertise to contribute to the company's short and long term goals.

Matt has returned to the UK with his wife and 4 year old twin daughters and is looking forward to making his new family home in the Newbury area.
