Highest safety for the Queen Mary 2

Hima safety controllers are monitoring the boilers and heating installations on the Queen Mary 2, as part of the Boiler Management and burner control system

The Queen Mary 2 is a superlative luxury liner and the longest passenger liner in the world In addition to the new boilers for fuel heating and domestic water heating that Saacke have delivered for the Queen Mary 2, there are now two H41q controllers from Hima Paul Hildebrandt + Co in operation

The two safety-related controllers, acting as a Boiler Management System, reliably provide operational safety to the application installed by Saacke, based in Bremen, one of the leading manufacturers of burner systems for the industry worldwide.

In the past, Saacke has repeatedly installed products made by Hima Paul Hildebrandt, the safety experts, including controllers from the H41q/H51q family and Himatrix, and were impressed by the performance and quality of the Hima products.

The compact controllers from type H41q are suitable for automation tasks with up to 208 I/Os and fulfil the IEC 61508 standard as requested by the customer.

The H41q/H51q systems were the first safety-related controllers in the world that made even a single channel operation up to SIL 3 possible without restrictions.

Hima develops and manufactures products and solutions for safety-related automation tasks for the process and manufacturing industries.

Hima-solutions are used for applications up to SIL 4 (IEC 61508) or Kat 4 (EN 954).

These include, e.g Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESD), Fire+Gas Systems (F+G), Burner Management Systems (BMS) as well as High Integrity Pressure Protection Systems (HIPPS) as well as application solutions for conveyor systems, presses, paint shops, body welding facilities, assembly systems and lifts.

The construction of safety-related, networked applications is made possible using safeEthernet. Request a free brochure from Hima Paul Hildebrandt ...
