ProfiTrace 2 Profibus network analyser kit demo

The new upgraded Procentec ProfiTrace 2 Profibus Analyser kit will be demonstrated at MMU at an Open Day on May 15, and again at the Profibus and Profinet User Conference and Exhibition, 24-25 June

Already widely used throughout the UK for installation checks and fault-finding, ProfiTrace shows details of all devices connected to a Profibus network and of communications traffic between them, highlighting repeated messages, missing replies, message content details etc.

With modern high speed, serial bus connected networks, such as Profibus, an engineer responsible for such networks needs optimised tools specifically designed for that particular electrical and protocol standard.

No longer can one use a simple general purpose multi-meter or oscilloscope to understand what is going on! The new range of kit from Procentec, and available in the UK from Hi-Port Software, will be on show at two future open days.

the first one is at the UK Profibus International Competence Centre of the Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU), where professional engineering training courses are regularly run.

This will be held on 15 May, and entry is free to all interested engineers: please register in advance via Hi-port Software.

The upgraded Procentec ProfiTrace 2 Profibus Analyser kit to be demonstrated adds new functionality, now integrating oscilloscope and other electrical measurements, so allowing use of one small USB adapter to be used for all stages of deployment and maintenance investigations.

ProfiTrace is the tool of choice utilised by MMU instructors for all of their Profibus courses.

The second demo event will be at the Profibus and Profinet User Group Conference and Exhibition, to be held on June 24-25 at Stratford on Avon.
